Online Reassignment Process for EAs
If you are one of the 160 EAs (generals and paraprofessionals) who need an assignment for the coming school year, you need to apply before 4:15 p.m. on Friday, July 22.
For the first time, MPS will not have the traditional reassignment assembly at central office, which was usually held just before school starts. Instead, all applications will be done online at the district's "Employee Self Service" website pages. You should have received the July 5 letter from Dr. Karen Jackson, head of MPS Human Resources, which explains the new process.
MPS Training Sessions
We recommend attending one of the training sessions MPS is holding. You'll be able to complete your application at the session. Please call LaTanya Rushing at 475-8224 to register.
Friday, July 15, 2011 1 to 3 p.m.
Tuesday, July 19, 2011 9 to 11 a.m.
Wednesday, July 20, 2011 1 to 3 p.m.

Prior to going online to apply, you can also review the application steps here.
Advice on Making Your Seniority Count
You received your ranking number in Dr. Jackson's letter. For example, if you rank #25 in senior among the excessed paras, "25" is printed in the third paragraph.
We recommend that you take these steps:
-
Read through all of the available vacancies.
-
Decide on your preferences - your first choice of assignment, your second choice, your third, etc.
-
List your preferences in order.
-
List one more preference than your ranking. For example, if you're #25, list your top 26 choices in order of your preference.
-
Double-check your application before you submit it.
You must submit your application online no later than 4:15 p.m. on Friday, July 22.
