Assistance Provided

TEAM participants receive intensive assistance from peers (mentors) for at least 2 full semesters. Assistance includes:

  • planning sessions
  • observations
  • follow-up conferences
  • modeling
  • coaching
  • providing resources
  • meetings with the local administrator
  • other supports deemed necessary

Participants who are headed for an unsuccessful exit are provided with career counseling as well as other opportunities. These supports are offered to participants resigning from MPS.

Referrals

Teachers are referred to the program by their administrator, a colleague, or they may self-refer. Each school year, there are 2 referral deadlines:

  • Mid-October (to start participating in the second semester)
  • Mid-March (to start participating in the first semester of the next school year.)

If you want to refer yourself or a colleague, the TEAM referral form is on the MPS Portal. Go to "District Forms" after you log in and then "Human Resources" forms.

TEAM is available to any tenured MPS teacher who is in need of assistance with classroom performance. Participation is strictly voluntary.
