MTEA Group-Sponsored Auto and Homeowners/Renters Insurance
The MTEA offers group-sponsored auto and homeowners/renters insurance through TCA Financial Services, an independent insurance agency. TCA represents several insurance underwriting companies.
When you shop for auto insurance through TCA, your individual data (car model and year; driving record, age, and number of drivers; coverages desired; etc.) are analyzed. This analysis will identify the underwriting insurance company, represented by TCA, that will provide you with the coverage you desire at the lowest rate available through the agency. Because auto insurance rates are continually changing, TCA periodically repeats this analysis to insure that you can continue to pay the lowest rate available.
A similar analysis is done to identify the lowest possible rate for homeowners/renters insurance from the companies which TCA Insurance Services represents.

MTEA Group Disability Insurance
The MTEA's group-sponsored disability insurance offers an excellent program of benefits, very competitively priced, with the convenience of paying the premium by payroll deductions. The program is underwritten by the Union Security Insurance Company. The booklet you received at new teacher orientation explains your options in detail.
For most new teachers, we recommend enrollment in Plan 2, the sick leave coordinated plan, and Plan 1, for a monthly benefit of $600. This combination will provide good coverage at a relatively low premium cost.
