Collective Bargaining Committee

 

Gathers information related to contract negotiations; develops membership surveys on bargaining priorities and the school calendar, and tallies responses. Meets throughout the school year as needed to help prepare for negotiations and perform other supportive tasks during the bargaining process. Tom Morgan is the MTEA staff liaison.  

 

Specific objectives for the 2008-09 school year:

  1. Update information and statistics related to contract negotiations and assist the bragaining team during negotiations as needed.
  2. Develop workshops for teachers, especially new teachers, on understanding the collective bargaining process abs current topics related to negotiations.
  3. Develop workshops for teachers concerning salary schedule placement, increments, salary division advancement, credits, and tuition reimbursement.
  4. Develop strategies to overcome the salary/fringe benefit caps.
