Bilingual/ELL Committee

Concerned with issues and trends affecting bilingual and ESL educators. Committee members plan workshops for professional growth of bilingual/ESL educators.

Specific objectives for the 2008-09 school year:

1. Increase bilingual/ELL educators' involvement in the committee and ongoing process of the MTEA.
2. Give input/suggestions to WEAC for convention sessions related to bilingual/ELL education/educators and sponsor a workshop for bilingual/ELL educators.
3. Attend conferences/conventions relative to bilingual/ELL education and educational reform as approved by the MTEA Executive Board.
4. Continue monitoring the concerns of bilingual/ELL and bilingual exceptional educators and make recommendations to the MTEA Executive Board.
5. Support creative ways to increase quality bilingual/ELL programs/schools facilities within MPS.
