Art Educators Committee

Focused on advocacy of arts education during the school day. Plans activities and develops advocacy materials to promote student and teacher art, and develop a more collegial atmosphere among district art teachers. Kris Collett is the MTEA staff liaison. 

Specific objectives for the 2008-09 school year:

1. Help plan and implement the annual student art exhibit.
2. Provide a voice for art educators in Milwaukee.
3. Involve art educators in advocating for better funding of art education.
4. Investigate member concerns regarding art education issues.
5. Plan seminars and workshops to expand member and community knowledge of the importance of art instruction in a well-rounded education.
6. Provide networking opportunities for art educators.
