Discipline and Security Committee

Monitors actions of MPS impacting security and discipline in the schools. Develops recommendations and workshops for improving security and discipline. Sid Hatch is the MTEA staff liaison.

Specific objectives for the 2008-09 school year:

1. Monitor the actions taken by the Milwaukee Public Schools to improve security and discipline in the schools.
2. Make recommendations to the MTEA Executive Board on improving discipline and security in MPS.
3. Provide staff development opportunities based on membership needs concerning building security and discipline techniques.
4. Work to develop a system to provide educators with up-to-date legal information about student behavior.
