Jan. 28 - Using Voter ID in the Classroom

MTEA is offering a unique workshop for teachers, "Using Voter ID in the Classroom."  This will be civic education at its best, with ideas and materials for grades 4 - 12.

 This workshop will provide: 

• Hands-on classroom learning activities
• Relevant background information and current legal information about the new voter ID law
• Information on voting rights struggles and the history of enfranchisement
• Connections to community resources conducting voter ID activities 

Sessions will be offered in: history/social studies, English/language arts, math and service learning.

Please pre-register by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 27.  The doors will open by 8:00 a.m. for coffee and snacks.
